La Rivoluzione delle Seppie is an active group of young international professionals working in the Italian Region of Calabria and interested in exploring the boundaries of practice and education. Through research, planning, design and training, Le Seppie, aim to improve the cultural fabric of the community, to promote social integration and development of the territory.
The BelMondo project was born in 2019, in conjunction with the event „Crossings“, which La Rivoluzione delle Seppie organises since 2016 together with the architecture collective Orizzontale, the local cultural association Ex Convento, the London Metropolitan University of London, under the patronage of the municipal administration of Belmonte Calabro. Crossings is a series of workshops, seminars and talks, bringing together local and international stakeholders. The philosophy applied to the event is to act in the territory of Belmonte Calabro aiming at the cultural reactivation of the village through the encounter of different communities.
